    M.I.A. -- "Go Off"
M.I.A. released her album AIM today and if this really is her final album, she made sure to make it count with a deluxe 17-track masterpiece. From start to finish, this album is a f---ing banger and this song, "Go Off," is getting me excited for the weekend. M.I.A. teamed up with Skrillex and Blaqstarr for this one and brought clattering drums and infectious synths and shows M.I.A. in classic form. I'll need some self-control not to abuse the repeat button on this one.

    Vulfpeck -- "Back Pocket"

Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but imagine a fake music video set in New York City in the summer of 1977. I picture people with big hair on roller skates wearing floral print dresses as they skate around the streets with a backdrop of a busted fire hydrant. SO WEIRD but this song embodies that feel-good retro feel (even though it's a 2015 track) and puts me in the best mood every time I hear it. It's so good.

Lucius -- "Almost Makes Me Wish For Rain"

If you're in need of a song you can sing at the top of your lungs in the shower or wherever - this one's for you. This song is intoxicatingly catchy and so upbeat that it makes me want to make up a little dance for it. The ladies of Lucius showcase their powerful vocals in this upbeat track and I'm definitely wishing for rain on this hot as f--- Friday.

Manatee Commune -- "What We've Got"
I have no idea what this is. I think it found its way into my "Discover Weekly" and... GOD IT'S SO GOOD! Turns out this Pacific NW Bedroom Producer submitted one hell of a Tiny Desk Concert Contest submission a few years back. I don't know how this video did not win.

Kyle Craft -- "Before the Wall"
This fiery, free-wheeling, Sub Pop product does his best Dylan... and it's great!

Josiah and the Bonnevilles -- "Cold Blood"
Another new song that somewhat randomly found me while perusing the entire recorded history of music on Spotify. This Tennessee outfit create a darker shade of cinematic folk music. The song is the title track to their recently released EP of the same name, out now via the fine folks at Vagrant Records.

Local Natives -- "Fountain of Youth"
This band just dropped their new album Sunlit Youth today. I still need more time to process it in full, but this explosive song makes me feel as if I'm invincible. Last week when I was in California, I think I was driving on Malibu Canyon Road (I might be wrong) and my family and I decided Local Natives would be perfect to listen to in that moment. So we put on "Mt. Washington" and yeah, paired with the gorgeous scenery, it was pretty perfect. Local Natives sure are great for those breathtaking moments.

Kings of Leon -- "Waste A Moment"
More music that was just released today (damn, today's a great day). I love Kings of Leon and this is pretty much a classic Kings of Leon track -- it sounds like all of their other stuff, but that's the way I like it. It's defiant, sun-soaked, and makes me want to go for a drive.

Flock of Dimes and Sylvan Esso -- "Don't Dream It's Over (Crowded House Cover)"
Fun fact: "Don't Dream It's Over" is probably one of my favorite songs of all time... So to have two of my other favorite artists, Sylvan Esso and Jenn Wasner of Flock of Dimes, cover it TOGETHER is pretty spectacular. When artists cover songs, I prefer that they make it their own -- if you're going to play it just like the original, I'd rather listen to the original. They put a really nice (and different) electro-ethereal spin on it.
