FKA Twigs showed up at BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge with a lounged out cover of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me". Arguably the two biggest break out's in Britain right now, Twigs and Smith both flirt with pop, synth, and R&B to very different ends. Twigs' deconstruction of "Stay With Me" is void of Smith's sense of desperate urgency, filling it with her own brand of gentle suggestion.
She discussed her relationship to Smith's track with Live Lounge host Alice Levine saying, "There was one line which basically alludes to saying, 'Im not in love with you and maybe this isn't a serious thing, but it's perfect for right now and it's what I need emotionally right now' — and maybe that's just something that I have related to.
