About a week and a half ago, Allah-Las released a new video for "Buffalo Nickel,"
which was overflowing with the sort of felt stop-motion animations typical of the Monty Python animated interludes Terry Gilliam made his early career from, and now San Francisco psych-rock wunderkind
Ty Segall is jumping on that train with a video and song that far exceed the output from Allah-Las.
Ty Segall's newest LP, Manipulator
, has been getting rave reviews from all corners of the internet, and Segall just released an interactive video for the album's title track. It's a masterful bit of Segall's typical blown-out, fuzz-driven garage with 70s style glam, and it's an almost shockingly accessible release from garage's biggest freak rocker. You can find the interactive version of the video here
or you can just watch a regular version below thanks to the New York Times
. Either way, I'm hard pressed to name a better way to start off this Monday morning.
