Here We Go Magic
have a penchant for making weirdly unsettling videos. First, there was the "Make Up Your Mind"
fiasco, which found Luke Temple acting as some sort of pyschic puppet master torturing beautiful young women. It didn't last very long on YouTube, although it has since resurfaced. Then there was the dancing android robot in "How Do I Know"
, which while charming, was also kind of vaguely Cloud Atlas
with its character's feelings on nonchalant disposable of a fabricant, amirite literary nerds?*
Now we've got "Hard To Be Close," which is at least funny-weird and not disgusting-weird or unsettling-weird. Three strangers are trapped in an elevator for all of eternity -- world are built and destroyed, 10,000 year silences pass, shirts are removed, and nothing is certain. Begin your journey.
