This November, Langhorne Slim
is releasing Lost At Last Volume 1,
his first record in many years, and today we're premiering one of the new singles from it. Entitled "Ocean City," the singer tells us it's "a song about my grandmom May, grandpop Jack, brother Jon, young love at the Jersey shore and the flame that remains inside most of us all." It's a pretty accurate description; I listen to the song, hear the subtle brass and the warm acoustic guitars and suddenly, I'm on the Asbury Park boardwalk with the ones I love, watching the sun set in the middle of July. It's a bittersweet tune for all of the autumn-deniers.
Langhorne Slim is currently on tour, see remaining dates below:
Sept 27 - Sixth & I - Washington D.C.
Sept 28 - Union Transfer - Philadelphia, PA
Sept 30 - Devil's Backbone Hoopla - Roseland, VA
