Although Valentine's Day is a few months away, it's never too early to start listening to some love songs. NYC-based indie rockers Mainland have decided to team up with Baeble to curate the most rockin' playlist of love songs - ranging from The Cure to Bishop Briggs to even Janet Jackson. We already knew these boys could play a mean rock tune, but who knew they were so in touch with their hopeless romantic, sensitive sides? Whether or not you're currently in love, as the band says, "love can translate to more than just someone you like," so dig into this playlist and read what Mainland had to say about each song below.

    1. "Lovesong" - The Cure

Kicking off this playlist with one of the best love songs ever. It's so simple in arrangement that the lyrics Robert Smith sings hit like a tattoo on the brain. You really feel the longing he was experiencing at that time.

    2. "Love on the Brain" - Rihanna

Honestly my favorite song she's ever done. Classic sounding and all about how love can get stuck in your head like a song on repeat.

    3. "Be Your Love" - Bishop Briggs

Bishop has one of the most powerful voices in music right now. This song is so tender at moments and full of raw energy at others.

    4. "Thirteen" - Big Star

Teenage romance in a nutshell. These guys have secretly always been inspirational to Mainland.

    5. "Valentine's Day" - Bruce Springsteen

"No no baby it was you, so hold me close honey say you're forever mine. And tell me you'll be my lonely valentine." The boss writes so much about what he sees in his world that this song is a personal standout. It reads like one long poem about a crazy lover he's had but he sings it with this heroic feeling of unrequited love.

    6. "Pale Blue Eyes" - The Velvet Underground

"Thought of you as everything. I've had but couldn't keep." This one is a heart breaking love song, intimate and all about losing someone but still loving them through the aftermath.

    7. "Love is Mystical" - Cold War Kids

The titles sums it up, the feeling of falling in love is beyond words.

    8. "That's The Way Love Goes" - Janet Jackson

This song is so sexy. Seriously Janet gets your heart racing like a first date gone right.

    9. "Up Against Me" - LP

"They don't know our kind of love. Just come on over my love." This one to me feels like a song about make up sex or a fight into a warm embrace. LP's voice is unreal.

    10. I Love My Friends - Foster the People

Love can translate to more than just someone you like. In desperate times when you're really lonely friends can be there for you. I'm really into this new FTP record - its feel good Beach Boys-like melodies with hip hop and disco grooves.
