We can all agree that tons of our favorite musicians come from the UK (Adele, Bowie, The Stones... Dare we continue?) and somehow, there have been even more
lately. Here are five that you may not know (but you will soon, because they're about to be huge).
is one of the most exciting singers at the moment. He has such an influential and distinctive voice that when he starts singing, you know it's him. He has already lent his talents to artists like SBTRKT, FKA Twigs, and Jessie Ware (#NBD!) and now he's getting ready to release his debut full-length, Process.
I mean it when I say I can't wait for this one.
is another one with a gorgeous voice. Her vocals are rich and soulful and she pairs them with heart-wrenching, minimalistic synth-pop.
This is a woman who hails from "the rural climes of Chipstead"
and she's pretty fucking cool. She's an artist who will inspire you to embrace your weirdness. She has a compelling style with little quirks here and there and writes chill songs like the one above, "Grip."
4. Billie Marten
You won't be able to tell from watching the above video, but singer-songwriter Billie Marten
is only 17 years old - what? Well, she's clearly an old soul because her stripped back music is wise beyond her years. We could see her collaborating with Ed Sheeran or Damien Rice in the future...
5. Boxed In
This is a fun electronic group from London who make super clean, danceable songs with accent-heavy vocals that make us *swooooon*. The band consists of members Oli Bayston, Liam Hutton, Mark Nicholls, and Jack Benfield.
