We got to hang with Josiah from Josiah and the Bonnevilles
today in Prospect Park. He showed up with a broken foot with barely an explanation of how it happened. All we know is that some alcohol and a roof was involved. Needless to say, Josiah is a little rough around the edges, but it works. His sound and his image scream "tough" but you can't help but be charmed by his Southern hospitality.
Josiah sang "Cold Blood" first. This is a song that you really want to study the lyrics. Over and over again. You can't deny the song is dark and a little sad, but still, really stunning. The song matched perfectly with the ambiance and scenery of the hidden nook that we found in the park to film this session.
"Easy To Love," the second song he sang, isn't part of the Cold Blood
EP. It's more upbeat and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He said that an old girlfriend of his said he was easy to love and that's why he wrote it.
Lastly Josiah sang, "Lie With Me." He kept having to switch from guitar to harmonica solos. It just seemed like a lot from someone who just broke his foot, even though he obviously wasn't using it.
You can watch the full in the very near future. In the meantime, check out our live behind the scenes footage on our Snapchat and Instagram story. We also captured some photos below.
