After the death of bassist Gerard Smith, Brooklyn art-rock legends TV on the Radio took a lengthy and understandable break. And although they teased several new singles last year (including the excellent "Mercy"), we've been waiting on pins and needles for details surrounding their latest LP, Seeds, for years now. And finally, the details and the album's lead single are flooding in. Seeds will be out 11/18, and the band will even be heading out on tour in support of the record.
And, although it seems everyone's been very confused this morning to not see "Mercy" and "Million Miles" on the official track list for the new record, lead single "Happy Idiot" has assauged any concerns I might normally have had about the direction Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone were taking the group for this new record. It fuses the electronic experimentation of Nine Types of Light with the more direct rock/sensuality of Dear Science, and I'm so glad I can finally say that TV on the Radio is back.
