Everyone has dreamt of meeting their favorite artist. And we all know the best way to do that is usually through an artist meet and greet. Ideally, a meet and greet is free, you get some kind of goodie signed by the artist, and you get to speak to them for a few minutes. Unfortunately for us, a meet and greet is usually not like that. They're generally expensive, rushed, and kind of disappointing. But these take the cake for Most Outrageous Meet and Greets.
1. Britney Spears
For the low price of $2,525 per person, you get to meet Britney Spears
. However, she has a strict No Touching Rule. So for $2,525, you get to stand in the general vicinity of Britney and have a picture taken with her. How nice.
2. Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas
embarked on their co-headline Future Now Tour
, they offered a VIP package in which you and three friends got a private backstage dressing room, a formal catered dinner, access to a private backstage lounge, and the stars of the show would stop by to take pictures and sign autographs for you and your friend. And it was only $10,000, and that didn't include the price of tickets to the show. Pocket change!
The "6 God Meet & Greet" package actually did kind of seem like a good buy. The package got you: a seat in the first 5 rows, a professional photo with Drake
, a 6 God candle, 6 God disposable camera, 6 God picture frame, 6 God foam finger, 6 God incense holder, Summer Sixteen pins and patches, a Summer Sixteen bag, Summer Sixteen "floaty pen" and a Summer Sixteen car freshener, and it would only set you back $1,000. But Drake ended up cancelling all of the meet and greets.
4. The Chainsmokers
Personally, I wouldn't meet the Chainsmokers
if they paid me. But some people are willing to shell out around $900 (it differed for each venue) for the Don't Let Me Down Dressing Room VIP Package which included: early entry, a PRESIGNED poster, soundcheck access, a polaroid photo with them, one drink (if you were over 21) in a pre-show lounge, dinner from Shake Shack (or whatever burger place is near the venue), a chance to play beerpong or fooseball with them, and some merch.
5. Justin Bieber
This one probably won't come as a surprise, as it just has
to be expensive to meet the Biebs. For $2,000 fans get a photo with Justin
, a tour of backstage and a "tour plaque," whatever that means. I'm sure middle schoolers have $2,000 laying around to see their idol.
6. Avril Lavigne
I'm sure you've seen those super uncomfortable photos of fans with Avril
floating around the internet. You'd think a meet and greet that disappointing would be free, but it actually cost a whopping $400, plus ticket price. Yikes.
7. Gene Simmons
Now, this probably takes the cake for the Overall Most Outrageous Meet and Greet. For a mere $50,000, the KISS vocalist will come to your house to hand deliver 10 CDs of his solo material and spend "up to two hours" with you and your friends. But, you are also responsible for providing the food and drink for the "party," Gene won't be wearing his KISS makeup, and he "may strum a few tunes for you and your guests" if you happen to have an acoustic guitar just lying around. Sounds reasonable, sign me up.
