Small Black Embrace Psychedelic Noise Pop

The night we caught Small Black at Brooklyn Bowl was a blast. Some of us were there capturing the evening on video. Our Managing Editor was taking pictures. But we were all lost in the dream-pop dance grooves of the Brooklyn outfit. The band's got a new record, Best Blues, due out 10/16, and they've shared another track, "Back at Belle's," from the forthcoming record. This track eschews some of the dancier, synth-pop the band occasionally trades in for a psychedelic swirl of simultaneously dissonant and melodic noise. It's a bit more avant-garde than the group's typical output, but it should scratch the itch for anybody jonesing for deeply layered and textured noise pop.

And be sure to check that evening at Brooklyn Bowl with Small Black out below.
