Former American Idol contestant Hailey Reinhart didn't need to win to make a splash -- the singer/songwriter may have placed third, but it was enough to attract Jimmy Iovine and Interscope Records to sign and develop her. Hailey's unique style and out-of-time approach to jazz and big band is a refreshing twist on maintaining organic music. But don't get the descriptors confused, Listen Up!, Reinhart's debut album, is sleek and modern, an Amy Winehouse style-romp in bluesy pop built for ubiquity. And the response has been massive -- Listen Up! is a fresh coat of paint on some of the olderst vehicles in music, big bashful choruses and emotional dust-ups, all delivered by Reinhart's distinct voice.
Music isn't the only style she's occupied with -- Hailey's sense of visual aesthetic, particularly on the direction of the album's artwork, is top notch. In the first of a series of videos, we teamed up with Nordstrom Rack to romp around Williamsburg Brooklyn with Haley, discussing both her sky rocketing career, as well as collecting Fall Fashion tips from some of the neighborhood's trendiest inhabitants.
