Don't you hate it when you go to an event and you're like, "OMG! James Murphy is performing tonight!?" and then it turns out he's just DJ'ing? Major let down, because who really
needs to see that? Well Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich of Atoms for Peace
were set to do a DJ set at MoMa's PS1 Warm Up
and actually did a little more than that, debuting several new songs throughout the performance. Based on the fan recordings -- which are actually pretty good -- the songs sound intricately composed and counterpoint to Yorke's prominent voice, much like their recently-released single, "Default."
But we're more excited by the fact that this all happened during what was supposed to be a DJ set. All you celebrity DJ'ers better step up yo games -- the bar has been raised.
