Animal Collective's New Live Record Should Be Pretty Weird

Like many folks of a certain age, Animal Collective is one of the most important bands to the formative years of me discovering "alternative" music. Merriweather Post Pavillion came out in 2009, and 2009/2010 was the year I started diving deeper into alt music than just The Shins/Arcade Fire/Radiohead. And MPP and Feels will always be the two big AC records to me. And I have a lot of memories about laying on my bed/couch and hanging out with friends and "Did You See the Words" coming on and us just enjoying being young and listening to weird as s*** music (interpret what we were doing how you will).

Animal Collective has a live record recorded at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC back in 2013 coming out later this year -- I guess it will be a while til we get another proper AC studio album -- and they've released one track from the live record, "Did You See the Words." And guess what, folks? It gets real weird.
