Cold War Kids
and Bishop Briggs
have just put out their video for "So Tied Up" and it's filled with all different kinds of cheery, absent-minded ways to murder your spouse. Cold War Kids and Bishop Briggs are hitting hard on the idea of love and broken fantasies, and to me it seems they make the complicated subject matter of the song more easily digestible with the dramatized back-of-the-mind murder fantasy style of the video. The video simplifies an otherwise subtle message that wouldn't be as explicit outside of a setting that's so comically charged.
The video makes you wonder who the bad guy is meant to be, or if there even is one.
