Earlier this morning, Miley Cyrus announced her sixth album, Younger Now, is set to drop on September 29th through a post on her website. According to her father, this album is Miley's return to her roots. In recent years, Miley has strayed very far from those roots, so it might be a bit hard to remember exactly what it is she's getting back to. But as she (okay, technically Hannah Montana) said, "You can always find your way back home." This timeline through Miley's career will serve as your travel itinerary for the journey back to those roots.

November 23, 1993 - Born Destiny Hope Cyrus in Franklin, Tennessee.

March 26th, 2006 - The first episode of Hannah Montana aired on the Disney Channel, effectively making both Miley and Hannah Montana household names

October 24, 2006 - Hannah Montana, an album with all the songs featured in season one of the show was released. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 200 Charts, earning Miley her first number one album.

June 26, 2007 - Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus was released. It was a double album with the first half being all songs from the second season of the show. The second half served as Miley's debut album, through Hollywood Records. This album also went to number one.

April 2008 - Baby's first scandal! Miley got her first taste of public ridicule at 15, when photos of her posing in her underwear were leaked.

June - October 2008 - Miley released her second album, Breakout, which included everyone's young love breakup anthem, "7 Things." In October, she stared in her first feature film, Bolt.

February - April 2009 - "The Climb" was released as a promotional single for Hannah Montana: The Movie, which was debuted in theaters two months later.

August 2009 - The unofficial national anthem, "Party in the USA" was dropped to promote Miley's clothing line. Miley's performance of the song at the Teen Choice Awards made parents everywhere lose their minds, as they interpreted the whole thing as a pole dance.

March 2010 - Miley starred in The Last Song, and started her on-again off-again relationship with Liam Hemsworth.

December 2010 - Miley's relationship with marijuana became public after a video of her holding a bong was leaked.

May 31, 2012 - Miley and Liam announced their engagement, and Miley debuted a blonde pixie cut that rocked the world.

August 2013 - Miley and Robin Thicke gave a bizarre performance of their songs, "Blurred Lines" and "We Can't Stop" and a foam finger endured some unfair treatment.

September 2013 - The music video for "Wrecking Ball" was released on the 9th. A week later, it was confirmed that Miley and Liam had called off their engagement.

    October 2013 - Bangerz, Miley's 4th album was released.

February - October 2014 - Miley embarked on a world tour for Bangerz. During these 10 months, Miley was at peak raunchy. She wore basically nothing, cursed like a sailor, and was not at all shy about announcing her love for drugs.

August 30, 2015 - Miley released her 5th album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, an experimental, psychedelic collaboration with The Flaming Lips, on SoundCloud for free. She hosted the VMAs the same day.

March 2016 - Miley's relationship with Liam was back and better than ever.

September/October 2016 - Miley became a coach for the eleventh season of The Voice in September. The following month she confirmed that she was once again set to become the future Mrs. Liam Hemsworth.

May 4, 2017 - In an interview with Billboard, Miley announced that she was done with drugs. Almost all signs of Wild Miley were gone, except for remnants of her platinum blonde hair she was still growing out.

May 11, 2017 - "Malibu," a love song about Liam, and its music video were released. Miley was back to her wholesome, family-friendly ways.

June 9, 2017 - Miley performed "Inspired," the second single off of her upcoming album, at the One Love Manchester benefit concert.

August 8, 2017 - Miley's 6th studio album Younger Now was announced, and will be released on the 29th of September.
