Director Spike Jonze is bringing our technological obsession to the silver screen with his upcoming feature Her, starring Joaquin Phoenix who plays a [mustached] man that falls in love with his computer operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). The plot sounds a little farfetched, but considering the massive Mac-crack obsession, the plot seems eerily familiar. Although Jonze's last film, his adaptation of Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are, was a bit of a snooze-fest, a look at his resume of transforming bizarre narrative themes into palatable mainstream successes (see Being John Malkovich), makes us pretty confident Her will follow suit.

We were a little disappointed to find out that Scarlett Johansson was on voice duty, and wouldn't be showing off her sultry self. She joins the likes of other notable soulless computer characters Hal 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey) and GERTY (Moon) who was voiced by Kevin Spacey. But once we scanned the full cast, we were relieved to see it was stacked with smokeshows - Olivia Wilde, Rooney Mara, and Amy Adams.

Her also features a score from Arcade Fire, who was a recent blog topic for their mysterious marketing tactics. Watch the trailer below.

Her is scheduled to hit theaters November 20th.
