The electrifying pop from New York based duo Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow make the new MS MR album simply unforgettable. How Does It Feel is powerful, and truly showcases Plapinger's unique and dynamic voice.
This album is MS MR's second full length release since joining forces and there isn't a combination more colorful yet dark currently in the indie world. The opening track, "Painted," begins with the lyrics, "Monday is January/ Friday is December/ Calendar means nothing/ When you can't remember who you are". The edgy synth and chilling vocals shine on this track and set a high standard for the rest of the record. Next in line, several songs with a slower tempo mix the sound up without losing the intensity of the rest of the album. The consistent feeling of empowerment throughout How Does It Feel is entirely fitting with MS MR's bold aesthetic and moody vibes.
The hype over How Does It Feel doesn't end with the recorded tracks, however. Bright and unavoidable, I can hardly even imagine how energetic and truly awesome the upcoming live shows will be. MS MR are touring North America and Europe throughout the fall, and I have a feeling these sets won't be one to miss.
