Drift Through the Stratosphere with SOHN

    Hailing from Vienna, Austria, experimental/electronic producer SOHN dressed to impress (so to speak) for his performance at Hype Machine's Hype Hotel in Austin. Casually donning the stage accompanied by several synthesizers and an electric bass, SOHN's live show mixed the smooth, airy vocals of the musician with impressive keyboard playing and dream sequence beats that really make you feel as if you're adrift amongst the clouds.

    The members of the electronic trio used their penchants for crafting catchy melodies to capture the attention of the crowd. The combination of analog drum machines and synthesizers create a very new world sound that epitomizes the possibilities for pairing analog and digital technology in live performances. In a world where knob-turning and button pressing are the dominant practice, it's refreshing to see some action shining through in this effort to push the boundaries of such a young genre of music.
