Dearly beloveds, we gather here to say our goodbyes. To the man, the institution Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), best known by his stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg, or just Snoop Dogg if you're in a rush.

Nothing is forever, not even the morning Starbucks line. And indeed, Snoop Dogg is no more. It's the end of the chronic era.

Before you despair, we should probably tell you that in a godly reincarnation, Snoop has, like a phoenix, risen from the ashes as.. Snoop Lion, a reggae singer in the grand tradition of Peter Tosh, and an aspiring American Idol Judge.

Apparently a January visit to Jamaica converted the rapper, and he decided he should be making music his "kids and grandparents" can listen to. Did Ziggy Marley wash his mouth out with soap or something? We don't quite know what to make of this zen-ed out version of the strutting game-spittin' man we used to know. Will he be preaching the gospel of D.A.R.E. and world peace? It remains to be seen.

**It can't be coincidence that Baeble was there for The Dogg's Last Stand at the Catalpa Music Festival, which, in hindsight may have been the musical event of our generation.

    Snoop, during simpler times:
