was my childhood. Her music was the soundtrack to my life. I knew every song, every lyric, every dance move, and every outfit choice. The two of us were BFFs... Even if she wasn't aware of it, or even aware of my existence at all... but that's irrelevant.
I loved Britney, I wanted to be just like her. A pop star, a celebrity, and most importantly -- Justin Timberlake's girlfriend. Surprisingly,
none of these things happened for me, but I've moved on (sort of). Spears has had her highs and lows just like all of us, and has battled back from hard times to be back in the music spotlight. In recent years she has headlined her own Las Vegas show and a few weeks ago released a new song called "Make Me" featuring G-Easy. My former BFF, Brit baby, took to Twitter last night to announce that her upcoming album, Glory,
is officially available for pre-order on iTunes. This is the eighth album from the singer and is expected to drop August 26th.
In honor of Britney's new album, we feel the need to reminiscence and bring back some of Britney's best music videos from her golden days.
"...Baby One More Time"
If I had a dollar for all the people I know that dressed up as schoolgirl Britney for Halloween since this video has come out I would be a millionaire. This is the most classic Britney video and actually the first music video she ever made.
This video has always been a favorite of mine. I love flight attendant Britney and this song is one of my go-to karaoke picks.
"Oops! I Did It Again"
I am going to admit it right now: not only do I know all of the lyrics to this song but I even know the speaking lines of both Britney and her love interest by heart. This video is the definition of old-school Britney Spears.
"I'm A Slave 4 U"
This video was the start of sexy Britney... extremely sexy Britney to be exact. After I saw this video for the first time, I begged my mom to let me get my bellybutton pierced. I was six years old.
"Me Against The Music"
First off, this video is with Madonna and that is fucking cool. Do you remember when the two of them performed this together at the VMAs and then kind of made out at the end? Because I do.
It was crazy. I was probably like, six years old, too.
