IN OUR EARS: Indie Olympic Anthems Edition

For this week's In Our Ears feature, we decided to switch it up and curate a playlist made up of indie anthems for this weekend's Olympics. Of course we could've gone with the classics, like Queen's "We Will Rock You" or Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," but we've seen that a million times. These indie songs have anthemic choruses that deliver a truly liberating feel and will get you up and running in no time.

Some playlist highlights include "When You Were Young" by The Killers and "1901" by Phoenix. Imagine hearing "Venus Fly" by Grimes ft. Janelle Monae as the runners compete, with the thumping bass and confident lyrics. In "Free," electro-duo BROODS sing, "I'm desperate to run, I'm desperate to leave / If I lose it all, at least I'll be free," which is the perfect mantra for any athlete. In "Surrender," singer-songwriter Tor Miller is accompanied by a heroic orchestra. Check out the entire playlist to feel like you're on top of the world.
