The Roundup: Our Favorite Videos From the Week That Was

The week's motif in music videos has somehow become 'things that don't readily make sense'. Coincidentally, My Morning Jacket's video for "Holding on to Black Metal" and Toro Y Moi's video for "How I Know" are both haunted by ghouls and retro mansions—in the same week. Did you know that Drew Barrymore is directing music videos now? Well she is, and her first one for Best Coast's "Our Deal" is West Side Story for the west coast. Young Man's video for "Enough" is quite abstract ('Enough' said). And last but not least, Lovett is scoring a ten minute short film called "Ghosts of Old Highways." The trailer has a lot of guns, and one Civil War hipster protagonist on the run (not Cold Mountain).

My Morning Jacket- "Holding on to Black Metal"

My Morning Jacket does their thing at an eclectic assortment of venues, including a haunted saloon and an animated cartoon world belonging to the devil.

Toro Y Moi- "How I Know"

Would you let the nice dead girls kill you in their retro mansion? Would you do it for a Scooby Snack?

    Best Coast- "Our Deal"

Romeo and Juliet meets West Coast, I mean, Best Coast.

    Young Man- "Enough"

Young Man gets creative with this one. We're particularly fond of the paint spillage.
