is a Nashville-based indie-rock band founded by songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Alicia Bognanno. After receiving a degree in audio engineering, Bognanno began interning at a recording studio in Chicago, but eventually found her way back to Tennessee when she landed a job as an engineer at a studio in Nashville. Alicia began playing in bands, and after a while realized that she wanted to start one herself. She was joined by drummer Stewart Copeland, guitarist Clayton Parker, and bassist Reece Lazarus to form Bully. Within a year they had landed a record deal, and their first album, Feels Like,
was released in 2015.
After touring, returning to Nashville, and changing record labels, Bully is back with Losing
, their sophomore LP set to be released on October 20th. The band just dropped a new single from the album called "Running." The song is angsty and demanding, while still managing to be melodic and alluring - basically, the band hasn't strayed away from their typical sound too much. Bognanno's raspy vocal delivery is equal parts compelling and unsettling, her wails require you to keep listening. According to Alicia, "Running" is "about shamelessly keeping yourself distracted or making up excuses to avoid processing certain emotions."
Bully will be on tour
this November through March of next year.
