Oh, Afropunk. After two full days of perusing the festival grounds and witnessing such beautiful, unique festival fashion, all I can say is: I think need a new wardrobe. As I walked through the entrance, I was immediately distracted by the sea of colorful jumpsuits, cotton candy afros, sequins and extravagant headpieces. And there I was - just a white girl and her camera, dressed head-to-toe in black.
The fashion of Afropunk is bold, breath-taking and vibrant. Its not only about self-expression, but expressing yourself freely and comfortably in a creative community. The crowd of Afropunk exuded pride, confidence and love, whether it was through their flawless outfits, accessories or hairstyles. Here are some of the highlights from the crowd at Afropunk 2016.
