I'm not a metal guy. In fact, I could honestly give less than zero f***s about roughly 90% of metal acts...even the ones that indie types are supposed to enjoy like Mastodon or Liturgy. No, thank you. But there are a handful that have managed to worm their way into my heart, and prog/stoner metal titans Baroness have been one of those acts since I first heard 2012's metal masterpiece, Yellow & Green. And, we may have a kind music god because Baroness is finally following up Yellow & Green with Purple in December, and we've been given the first taste of the record with the sprawling and intense, "Chlorine & Wine."
