I'm a huge Brand New fan. Give me an hour and I will talk your ears off about why The Devil & God Are Raging Inside Me is one of the top 10 albums of the aughts. And I'm not really a pop-punk guy or an emo guy (which is the two niches everyone wants to force that record into), but great music is great music regardless of genre, and when I heard "Knots" by Speak Low If You Speak Love (the solo project of State Champs bass player Ryan Scott Graham), I knew I'd finally found the first artist in that genre to make me feel those same stirrings Brand New made me feel all those years ago.

We have the exclusive premiere of the video for "Knots," and it is simultaneously gorgeous and emotional and turbulent...just like life. Anybody who's been in a new relationship (or a long-term one) with someone who's hesitant to open themselves up and reveal themselves can relate to the tale of being unable to pierce the emotional veil of a romantic partner that this song spins. And Graham's voice's ability to change register and mood from soft, almost whispers to a wail just sort of a scream immediately paints him as one of the most warm and endearing voices in pop-punk. As someone who's loved before and hopes to love again someday, "Knots" hit me right in the stomach.
