Tokyo Police Club have been enjoying a successful run of touring on their latest LP Champ, but it's been far too long since we've heard new tunes from the Canadian rockers. Fortunately, we've got an ongoing project to keep us occupied. The band recently popped into Redbull Studios in LA to lay down another cover in their singles project (one for each year of the past ten years). 2002's chosen track is Jimmy Eat World's classic power-punk song "The Sweetness", saving it from being relegated to Jack Radio and the bowels of the Guitar Hero catalog. Check it out!
Neat! The song was also recorded with Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit, double neat!
Today the band will premiere another cover they've been working on, The Strokes "Under Control". Geez guys, rip my entire college beer pong playlist why don't you? The track will debut on AltPress at 1PM.
