This past weekend, Netflix premiered their latest in the Marvel Comics-inspired franchise: The Defenders, a union of their previous streaming hits Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Iron Fist. The series stars Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Charlie Cox, and Finn Jones, whose superhero characters team up to save New York City with an awesome soundtrack playing in the background.
The original score for the show was composed by John Paesano. It's excellent on its own, but for the purposes of this article, we've compiled the tracks by other recent artists featured on the show. As you might expect, the soundtrack is hip-hop, pop, and R&B heavy, featuring artists like Mos Def, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna, and, of course, the Wu-Tang Clan--because let's not forget that Method Man canonically exists in the superhero show.
