Single Serving: Zero 7 Ends Four Year Hiatus

    Electro/trip-pop/acid-jazz duo Zero 7, in their own words, find themselves "with a load of new music and without a record label". Bummer. So, for the first time, the band is going it alone, planning to release the first new material since 2009's Yeah Ghost on their own. Crisis averted! Today we're throwing the first installment of what will apparently be an ongoing process throughout the fall at you. "On My Own" kicks off with a funky bass line and a tight vamp. Then there's a McInerney-esque nightclub-hopping aura, courtesy of guest singer, Danny Pratt's mystical and smooth sonic capabilities. It's a track that doesn't disappoint, ambient and catchy, suggesting this new material is something to get excited about. Have a listen below:
