Carly Rae Jepsen Slays The Tonight Show

We're going to run a review of it next week, but I've been listening to Carly Rae Jepsen's new album, Emotion, a bunch this week, and I'm going to be absolutely straightforward here. This is probably the best Top 40 pop album since The Fame/The Fame Monster. It's a euphoric, triumphant mix of the best of 80s synthpop and modern indie aesthetic -- which makes sense since Dev Hynes, Ariel Reichstad, and Rostam Batmanglij all worked on the album. And Carly Rae Jepsen stopped by The Tonight Show last night to play Emotion's opening track "Run Away With Me" which also happens to be my favorite number on the album. I think it's the incredible sax riff on the track. And Carly Rae Jepsen slays the number. If you're ashamed to be a Carly Rae Jepsen fan in 2015, you're wrong.
