    My Friend Wallis is Crystal Dorval from Vancouver who, according to her Myspace, started making summery, beached-out music under the MFW name in the Winter of '08 in order to wile away the cold days of a Canadian winter. After releasing her first EP When The Blue Turned Yellow which you can download for free over at her Bandcamp page, she assembled a full band to make a new batch of music.

    "Days Go By", a new demo from the full band, is a wonderful song -- breezy, beautiful and beachy. Dorval has a great voice and, while it's not used much in this song, it contributes to the dreamy feelings that "Days" evokes. Yeah, everyone's making beach music these days but My Friend Wallis make a particularly lovely strain of it. Check out "Days Go By" below. -ben krusling
