"Rendezvous" is the latest release from L.A.-based singer-songwriter Rainsford
. The video, directed by Rainsford and her sister, was released just a few days ago. Although I probably won't be re-watching the video a whole lot - it's cute and the colors are nice, but spying on an old couple getting it on in the park feels a little weird - the song itself is great, and will probably find its way into my daily rotation.
Rainsford voice is sweet and syrupy, gliding easily between airy high notes and a full-voiced mid range. "Rendezvous" has a perfect touch of slight nostalgia, and has all the workings of an indie pop song. The vocal layers and harmonies are dreamy and add a feeling of fullness to the overall sound, and are especially nice when they're exposed at the 2:46 mark of the video. Overall, "Rendezvous" is an ideal indie pop song, with a slightly nostalgic, summery vibe that's easy to chill to.
