Earlier this summer, London-born singer JONES
released her song "Melt," a smooth, cool R+B-infused track dripping with soul. And now, she's finally released a music video for it.
The gorgeous video features JONES alone in a room, mostly empty except for art on the walls, dancing standing in one place as the upper half of her body sways with elegant, graceful movements. As it starts, the singers has her hair braided in a halo in a sophisticated white jumpsuit, until parts of her body cut away as she dances, and suddenly she's in a black and white dress, or a black bandeau and blue skirt, and her arms and even her head are multiplying as she moves, while geometric shapes float behind her.
You'll be dizzy by the end of the video, but it's beautiful and perfectly embodies that freezing splash of water to the face on a sweltering summer day that the song feels like. The visual effects of the lines, from the way JONES' body is cut to the glitchy shapes floating in the background, give the whole video a fresh, clean feeling.
"Melt" is from the artist's forthcoming debut album, New Skin,
set for release October 7 of this year. In the meantime, you can watch the new video above!
