You know that mate you don't see nearly enough, but when you do, wonder why the hell the two of you can't make it happen more often? That's Polica. The band's debut, Give You The Ghost, woefully doesn't see a lot of play on my pod. When it does though, all that shameless synth cheese, double drummer devastation, and delightfully elastic vocals feels like a serious crack to the noggin. Duh, dude. These guys rule, obviously.

Today Polica are giving folks like me the chance for redemption, unveiling a new single from their forthcoming album, Shulamith, due 10/22 on Mom+Pop. "Chain My Name" finds the Minneapolis troupe in finest form, delivering the kind of fizzy, percolating sugar rush that's got me feeling more than a little guilty about my previous, selective interest. Thankfully, there's a bit more time to brush up on the old stuff and get excited about the new stuff. Be a better friend than I've been and give this warm weather anthem a whirl or three before the thermometer starts to dive.
