Last night's episode of Twin Peaks included an appearance from David Bowie during a flashback scene. The original footage of Bowie was in the 1992 Twin Peaks film, Fire Walk With Me, which served as a prequel to the series that began in 1990. Prior to his death, Bowie was scheduled to make a return to the series as the same FBI character from the nineties, according to Harry Goaz from the TV show. Here's the original scene that last night's episode referenced:

I gave Blackstar a very due return the other day, and I still can't believe how surreptitiously he mentions his impending death that occurred two days after the album's release. He couldn't give everything away, but David Bowie truly brought us out to lunch by saying "I'm dying to", which really reads as "I'm dying, too." Blackstar was his "parting gift" and a very heavy one at that.
