Despite never playing a live set as a band before, Oh Wonder has somehow managed to accumulate over 15 million plays on their Soundcloud page. On top of this, they achieved the equally impressive feat of managing to release a single every month over the past year with each track better than the next. Their self-marketing has proved successful for the duo, as their collaboration of male and female vocals coat the classically trained pianist Josephine Vander Gucht in an electronic mirage.
Speaking of mirages, the latest video from Oh Wonder has been released. "Drive" features a hallucinatory romance in the middle of the desert roads that stitch America's abandoned frontier where signs of life have become few and far "between." The track contains a laid-back synth riff reminiscent of The xx's nonchalance with a bright string staccato to lay the foundation of the chorus. "Drive" marks the one-year anniversary of Oh Wonder's single-per-month project, and their debut LP will be out September 9th.
