Baeble First Play: The Psych Folk Swell of Craig Martinson

We premiered Craig Martinson's exuberant psych-pop single "Fool For Love", and it was a magnificent blast of 60s acid-tinged magic. And when Craig got a hold of me and asked if I wanted to premiere the animated lyric video for his new single, "Love Is A Burden," it only took one listen to the song for me to know that I wanted to say yes.

"Love Is a Burden" is a little more rooted in folk than "Fool For Love" -- that is til the 1:30 mark where a rollicking piano line hits and Craig Martinson finds an ear burrowing fusion of orchestral pop, folk, and acid rock. With the raw wail of his voice paired with the intoxicating instrumental melody, Craig transcends his 60s psych roots for a sound embracing the best of modern production and classic songwriting. It doesn't hurt that the animation for the video proves nearly as mesmerizing as the songwriting. Check out the video below.
