Baeble First Play: The Moonlit Folk Rock of Distant Cousins

    The resurgence in the last ten years of folk-tinged pop rock speaks to an entire generation of musicians reclaiming how amazing Fleetwood Mac were (where for the better part of the 90s and early 2000s, their soft-rock was considered a bit kitsch). You can play warm, inviting melodies and still craft complex but accessible pop tunes and on their song, "Your Story," folk-poppers Distant Cousins do just that.

    Rooted in the same folk-rock ouevre as fellow Baeble favorites Milo Greene and Of Monsters and Men, "Your Story" feat. Jessie Payo utilizes a dusky, moonlit melody and smoky vocal harmonies to twist the branches of softer alt-folk/alt-pop into something cinematic and atmospheric.
