The 90s are back, thanks to Bully
. The Nashville-based quartet scored big in 2015 with their critically acclaimed debut record Feels Like
. It's hard not to feel nostalgic when you hear Bully's honest, fun revival of 90s noise rock. Since then, they've left their major label deal at Columbia Records and teamed up with SubPop (which feels like a much better fit for the band's sound). Their forthcoming sophomore record Losing You
is out October 20th - you'll definitely want to mark your calendars for this one.
On Feels Like
, Bully put an upbeat twist on a recognizable grunge sound. Based on new single "Feel the Same," Losing You
won't be much of a departure from that frantic, fiery energy. It seems like the band has come to terms with growing up, as the new record centers on "learning not to run away from your troubles but to face them no matter how messy they be." Even more exciting: Losing You
was once again engineered and mixed by front woman Alicia Bognanno herself. What's better than a badass lead singer who doubles as a creative visionary?
Bully hasn't been completely silent in the last two years, though. Earlier this spring, they added to the politically charged Bandcamp project, Our First 100 Days.
Seeing artists share their views in hopes of progressing positive change never stops being inspiring. We can't wait to hear more of Bully's unfiltered, unapologetic voice on their upcoming album.
