The Eagles' country/rock tunes have varying effects on listeners. Although their saccharine harmonies send most middle-aged women into a hormonal Rennaissance, many others just can't handle their repetitive lulls. Sometimes, things can get ugly. In the case of an American tourist who was stabbed during a karaoke dispute while on holiday in Thailand, Eagles fury was taken a little too far.
According to AP
, Bobby Ray Carter Jr. was stabbed following a quarrel in a Thai karoake bar when the band played The Eagles' "Hotel California" instead of the song that he requested to sing. Carter refused to leave the stage, and the argument with the musicians led out to the street where the 51-year-old Texas businessman was stabbed in the chest with an iron rod. Carter died en route to the hospital.
Thanks to the Dude, we avoid the Eagles at all costs...
