Get out your parachute pants, kids. The farther away from the 80's we get, the more frequently we seem to meander back. Buffetlibre, a website dedicated to the promotion of pop and electronic music in legal mp3 formats has started a project called Rewind, a non-commercial collaboration intended "as a unique tribute to one of the golden ages of music history." More like bright gold. Or bright yellow. And purple. Leggings.

Anyway, the release will feature 58 covers and remixes by 58 artists, all available for free on the site. Bands such as Dragonette, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Electric Soft Parade, Levy, Saint Bernadette, Hello Tokyo and The Cloud Room, along with producers such as Frankmusik, !Trash Yourself, RAC, Xinobi, and Moulinex have taken their favorites from the decade and contributed to the project. We have a sample below for you from The Cloud Room, but the whole thing is free. Give in to your music nostalgia nerd-dom and check it out. -joe puglisi
