Before he was the frontman and founder of Bon Iver, Justin Vernon was just another 17-year-old playing in his high school band in 1998.

The group known as Mount Vernon, includes musicians that Vernon has played with in recent years, like Brad Cook from Megafaun, DeYarmond Edison, Phil Cook from Gayngs Joe Westerlund from Grandma Sparrow.

The set, played at Vernons high school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, includes five songs from the band's debut album, We Can Look Up:
"Today is Just a Day, We Can Look Up, Thompson, Sprinkler, and High Five.

Watch the show above for baby-faced, beardless Bon Iver, with that nostalgic '90s VHS quality and timestamp in the corner.

And if this has you craving more current Bon Iver, the band is set to this release new music this summer, debuting at Vernon's hometown Eaux Claires Festival on August 12-13.
