Hear Sufjan Stevens' Charming Arthur Russell Cover

    Red Hot Organization is paying homage to the beloved singer/songwriter Arthur Russell, who died of AIDS in 1992, through a common thread: Music. The AIDS charity is gathering together many bands and musicians to appear on a compilation album of Russell's tracks, titled Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell.

    The star-studded album is set to feature covers from artists including Hot Chip, Blood Orange, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, Phosphorescent, Robyn, Thao With the Get Down Stay Down, Jose Gonzalez, and Sufjan Stevens. Stevens' tender cover of Russell's 1994 single "A Little Lost" was shared earlier today, and while he modernizes the track with more severe drum patterns and rhythms, the delicacy of his vocals is charmingly reminiscent of the original.
