It's been a big month for R&B artists that always seem to be forgetting a vowel. Alternative R&B musician The Weeknd has returned with what may arguably be his most accessible track to date, accompanied by a surreal video that features a mid set immolation right before his fiery display of his inner King of Pop.
Melding the definitive pop of Michael Jackson with the vocal texture and dancability of Disclosure's "F for You" and lyricism of Frank Ocean with a double entendre twist, The Weeknd produces an immediately catchy hit. I wouldn't be surprised if the radio-ready "Can't Feel My Face" starts to infect nationwide airwaves, becoming a late blooming summer track to soundtrack the latter half of the season.
