have pretty much established themselves as the masters of covers and now they're out with another one -- "Same Drugs," originally by Chance The Rapper
. The New York-based indie pop band claim to be huge Chance fans and admitted that they've been playing his latest album, Coloring Book
"Chance in our opinion is one of the most talented and unique artists of our generation," said lead singer Mandy Lee in a statement. "We couldn't help but cover a tune off the record since it's all we've been listening to and 'Same Drugs' was one we gravitated towards most between the message and the musical arrangement."
The cover keeps the soulful piano music and passionate, somewhat husky vocals as Chance's original, but Lee's higher voice lends a feminine spin to it. It's a really lovely cover, as catchy as it is emotional. Chance has already heard it -- he tweeted that it made his heart smile, so it seems like he felt the same way!
