Daniel Blue of the Seattle band, Motopony, has folky vocals, but sets himself apart from other soft-rockers by merging his sound with rock, soul, and even funk styles. Blue reveals his satanic side with the opening lines of "Seer," "I am a sinner, baby, I am a deceiver. I am selfish and so proud. There is no question about my need to be delivered. I'll never get in if I'm afraid of coming out." The song boasts instrumentals that wrap around blues vocals, which are powerful, yet shaky and demand attention. For a band that sites everything from Neil Young to Daft Punk in their influences, they are certainly successful in executing this wide scope of styles into Motopony's own music.
