RDGLDGRN jumped onto the map in 2013 with their Red Gold Green EP and lead single "I Love Lamp," and since then the trio has been defying genre boundaries with their mix of hip-hop, reggae and rock influences. Now the Virginia based musicians are set to release their second self-released EP in the fall, but in the meantime they are giving us a glimpse of what's to come with their new single "Turn."

RDGLDGRN stay true to their multiple-sidedness with indie-rock inspired quick guitars and even drums, which give a light and carefree backdrop to the soothing voices dishing out the chorus. But this steadiness is shaken up by a rap interlude from frontman GREEN who delivers up a heavy dose of reality with lines like "All real highs are followed by depression." Even though the abrupt lyrics are hard to ignore, the track ultimately acts as a nice addition to your laid-back summer playlist and perfectly teases what this thoughtful band has up its sleeves for autumn.
