Wisconsin-based band Vinyl Theatre
seem to have a fascination with origami. Not only does the word serve as the title of their newest album, but it also makes an appearance in their video for "30 Seconds," which we're premiering here today. "This is one of the most lyrically heavy songs we've written, but the music isn't lost in the message," the band told us. "Existential crisis and the brevity of life is something so many of us go through and become far too aware of. We wanted to make a music video that could convey the importance of being here, now, and enjoying that brevity. Holding tight to those memories no matter how far away they may seem."
The video follows an old woman who's seen folding origami in a wheel chair as she's gifted with a bird, which later acts as a symbol of life and freedom. "I don't mind 30 seconds or a lifetime," singer Keegan Calmes sings. The lyrics might induce an existential crisis, but the Two Door Cinema Club-esque music will have you feeling like you're on cloud 9.
