The young, underground Brooklyn music scene is one that continuously sprouts new faces and sounds. Sparked by British indie-pop of the 1980s, Ski Lodge brings forth a new chapter in jangle-pop. The foursome of Brooklynites formed in 2011 behind singer and songwriter Andrew Marr. Clean-cut, dreamy guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics have brought the band to the attention of Dovecote Records, with whom they will release their eponymous EP in September.
The New York up-and-comers recently made their way down south for a performance at Hype Machine's Hype Hotel. Ski Lodge breezed through their intimate set with precision and got the audience back into the mellow swing of jangle-pop.
